New vehicle owners have a tendency to frequently wash their car, SUV or pickup to keep it looking showroom fresh. As the vehicle ages, there is a tendency to become lax with care. However, whether old or new, washing the vehicle regularly is important.
How often owners need to wash their vehicles depends on a variety of factors. If the vehicle is kept in a garage, it is less likely to be subjected to bird droppings, tree sap or dirt. But, if the vehicle is used daily to make commutes that subject the front end to bug splatters or road debris, washing becomes a necessity to protect the finish.
